Canary Island Broom (Genista canariensis)

The winter days are awakened by the sweet fragrance of this subtropical broom. Long spires of bright yellow flowers emerge from January to April and fill the air with a delicate fragrance. Grow in a cool, sunny area with a night temperature below 60° F to induce flowering. It will continue to flower as long as the nights are cool. Canary Island Broom is an excellent plant to train as a topiary or standard.
