Goumi berries are a rich source of vitamins C, A and E, lycopene and flavinoids, and it is considered to be a medicinal plant in China where it is used to boost immunity and lower cholesterol. The medium-sized shrub grows about 6’ tall and has attractive silver-green foliage. Goumi plants are nitrogen-fixers. They take nitrogen out of the air and improve the fertility in the soil surrounding the plants. Fragrant flowers appear in spring followed in mid-summer by sweet, juicy scarlet-red fruits that have the flavor of tart cherries. Sweet Scarlet™ has proven to be self-fertile so you only need one plant to bear fruit. It starts fruiting the second year after planting and yields about 10 pounds of fruit.

Great Product and Service

Due to a postal service mistake my plant got delivered to the wrong address a week before it finally got delivered to the correct address (USPS issue NOT a Logee's issue). Still my plant miraculously is still partially alive. It was packed perfectly and would've been undamaged except for being dried out. This was my 1st purchase from Logee's and I will definitely buy from them again next year when the plant comes back in stock.

GREAT service from Logee's, by the way. They went way out of their way to help me and gave me cordial service even in spite of the covid-19 rush for nursery plants. They would've sent me a new plant but they didn't have one in stock so they gave me my money back. Amazing honest service, I totally recommend them.
