Queen of Sheba Vine (Podranea brycei)

Queen of Sheba Vine (Podranea brycei)

$19.95
SKU: R2930-4

4" Pot Size

Pink trumpet-like flowers put on a spectacular show nearly the whole year long. We started a small cutting of this tropical vine at the beginning of summer and it grew so fast that by the summer’s end, it was a 4’ bushy shrub full of flowers. The blossoms have a light fragrance. It’s thought to be a native of Africa but Queen of Sheba Vine is entirely different from Podranea ricasoliana, a wild and often unmanageable vine. Queen of Sheba Vine can be maintained as an upright shrub with judicious pruning and since it’s nearly everblooming, prune it anytime leads get out of form.

I've had my queen of sheba vine for over 3 years. I bring it inside when the weather gets cold.

I have never gotten a bloom from this plant. It's green and grows, but it does not bloom. It's been a disappointment.

beautiful bloomer

this is the second year for this. i got nothing the first year. hardly any growth. i had the plant winter in a green house since i am in zone 6 and this is a zone 10 plant. we have had frost and below freezing temps here already so we pulled it into a breezeway and it is still blooming. i think it has grown a foot since we sheltered it. i hope someone can tell me how much it could be cut back because it is really huge and would take up a lot of room in a green house.

Fantastic

This fast growing plant is easy to grow and fun to watch. Mine has just started blooming after growing all summer. The blooms are beautiful and well worth the wait. I plan to add more of these plants to my garden. With consistent watering, this beauty survived the summer in the Arizona desert !
