I lusted over this plant for years but was intimidated by how finicky it's said to be. Eventually I ordered it and I was so excited to receive it. I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't look much like the picture on the website. The plant is very crowded with small leaves that have substantial browning around the edges and only a couple larger leaves like in the photos on the website. I'm sure a lot of the stress on the plant was from travel, which I can't fault Logee's for. I was hoping it would be in better shape when I received it though. The plant looks bushy, chaotic and kind of sad compared to the images shown online. I'm hoping it'll spruce up after it adjusts to my home but I'm not feeling too confident considering it's said to be a challenging plant and I feel I've received it in less than ideal condition.

I ordered two of these beauties, and without question they were top quality and well established. But caring for them was a constant struggle. To achieve truly wonderful leaf coloration you need to pay close attention to the temperature and the humidity of the local environment and water quite regularly. But once they are settled and you have those factors down it's a wonderful plant that puts out new growth quite rapidly but old growth such as damaged or burnt leafs will remain for a while. Certainly a quality plant for folks who want something to "care" for a bit more intensely. Also no matter what I did these plants always somehow ended up with Spider Mites, nobody else in my collection of tropical plants would get infested, which was a pain because the most effective pest treatment methods were quite damaging to the leaves.
This plant arrived in very good shape and is holding up nicely so far.
