6" Pot Size

Cinnamomum zeylanicum, or Ceylon cinnamon, is the true cinnamon of the spice trade. It makes a wonderful container plant since the tree is slow growing. Juvenile leaves have a rich reddish- bronze color and mature leaves have a spicy aroma when rubbed. Spires of white flowers appear in spring and summer followed by small purple fruit. When the plant matures, the outer bark is scraped off and long rolls of the inner bark are cut to form cinnamon sticks. Fragrant and highly aromatic, curled cinnamon bark is used for cooking as well as herbal medicine. Cinnamon is reported to reduce blood sugar and calm nerves. Grow in an acidic potting mix in warm temperatures. Plants are approximately 12-14” tall as shown in the inset photo.

Cinnamon

A beautiful, healthy tree! I am so pleased. It's been nearly 18 months since I purchased this tree and it amazes me everyday. I can't believe I'm growing a cinnamon in zone 6b.

What a fun tree

Tree arrived in the usual manner from Logee's. Perfectly packaged and a great specimen. This tree lives permanently outside in a very large pot. It's about 6 feet tall and bushy. Had no difficulty transplanting it over the years to this size. The specimen is now 7 years old. It's survived in zone 9 with out a problem. The leaves this year had a sight browning on one side of the tree when the temperature dipped to 33 for about an hour several nights in a row.

Well worth the price!

My tree arrived three months ago. I cut it back a bit (4 inches) and it has already grown double from what I cut. Lots of new growth (leaves are red when young) and it has had no trouble with pests. I'm glad I spent the money on this tree!
