I have had my Kona hibiscus (in memory of my dog Kona????) for at least three years. It's about 6ft tall and the vivid pink blooms are showstoppers. It's a profuse bloomer and my favorite hibiscus ????. I live in Tucson Arizona and this plant does fine as long as I water it during the summer months.
I live in zone 9B, Florida. I bought this plant in April' 2022. I originally planted it in a pot in a full sun, and it had lots of buds. As soon as they started to open they would fall off. So I finally planted it in the ground, but the buds continued to fall. On 12/16, I called Customer Service and they advised me to pot and bring it inside. The temperatures have been in the 50 and even 40s for a few days. I worried the cold would kill the plant, but, decided to repot it the following day. Next day I went to dig it out, and low and behold there was a fully open gorgeous bloom. I have decided to take my chances and leave it in the ground. I'm actually considering ordering another one.
The flower is better than what you see here. the plant was small and I potted in big pot and didn't change after. it grew well and took it indoors for the winter. very happy with the purchase.
