Lipstick Plant ‘Mona Lisa’ (Aeschynanthus obconicus)

‘Mona Lisa’ is a reliable fall and winter bloomer that’s very showy with its purple calyxes and bright red flowers. This drought tolerant plant has a gorgeous trailing habit and is artfully displayed when grown in a pot or hanging basket with the stems trailing over the pot’s edge. The leaves are rounder and lighter green than other Lipstick Plant varieties. This cultivar has lots of vigor and does well in an east or west window. Remember to prune only after flowering because next year’s flowers are on the growing tips.
