Many Flowers (Pavonia multiflora)

Many Flowers (Pavonia multiflora)

$14.95
SKU: R1490-2

2.5" Pot Size

True to its name, many flowers appear year-round on this unusual Brazilian species. The narrow red bracts, reaching skyward, reveal the rolled purple flowers and its protruding stamen. This shiny leafed mallow has an upright growth habit, is easy to grow and responds well to hard pruning.

Special Note: Pavonia plants naturally excrete small, round grains, or growth sugars, on the undersides of the leaves. While sometimes confused for insect eggs or a sign of disease, these sugar grains are actually a sign of normal, healthy growth, and are nothing to be worried about.

Non-Stop Flowers!

A great plant for inside and out. Even on a sunny windowsill in winter (I live in NE Ohio), this plant is always in bloom -- always!
Stems are fairly vertical, so it is not a terribly wide plant, which makes it so much easier to move about.

Just Keeps Blooming

A winner! It's so easy to care for in the little greenhouse that opens into my kitchen. I'm "braiding" the side shoots into a single stem so there are blossoms from top to bottom. Even those side shoots are blooming like crazy..The blossoms are pretty and unique and last quite a long time. it's been in constant bloom in the 3 or so years I've had it, even in the dead of Winter. I'd give it 10 stars if that were an option.

Easy to grow and flowers!

I bought this plant because it was on sale and had an interesting name. I have it in only a 4" container at this time in a southeast window. I was surprised on how fast it grew, and best of all, it flowered in its first season. The flowers are interesting and good conversation piece. The flower stalk lasts for a long time. Has a very erect growth pattern. Getting my second round of flowers, now.
