Dwarf Mulberry Bush ‘Issai’ (Morus alba)

Dwarf Mulberry Bush ‘Issai’ (Morus alba)

$24.95
SKU: R2179-4

4" Pot Size

Rare and hard-to-find, this dwarf mulberry has performed admirably for us as a container plant. The fruit is larger than our dwarf mulberry and the plant flowers and fruits most of the year in repeating cycles. When grown as a container plant, its plump sweet fruit is easily picked and is also easily protected from birds with lightweight netting. It is hardy as a garden plant in zones 7-9. When grown outdoors, it is deciduous. When grown inside, it will hold its leaves and continue to flower and fruit as long as the light level is high enough.

Great Little Plant

My Mulberry arrived in great condition in a 4" pot and already has little berries growing on it. The leaves are green and no damage occurred during transit. I am very happy with my little plant. I can't wait to plant it outdoors and see it grow. Thanks for a great little tree Logees!

Bitter fruit

This Issai grows very well, yet remains manageable in a pot, and fruits constantly. Unfortunately, Issai fruit is almost inedibly bitter. I have sweetened the potting mix with horticultural lime, trying to solve the problem, but it's still very bitter.

WOW!!!

I know I have already submitted a review but I HAD to review this plant again. I have had this plant for roughly 10 days. 10. And there are not one, but two baby berries already growing. Keep in mind this plant arrived DORMANT. I am so excited, and I would definitely recommend buying this plant.

So worth it

The box had a dent when it arrived with two other plants, the plants inside were very healthy and had no evidence of any damage. The plant arrived dormant but, after one week, there are already three leaves. I am really excited to have a nice supply of mulberries this year.
