Perfume Flower Tree (Fagraea ceilanica)
Perfume Flower Tree, or Fagraea ceilanica, is world renowned for its fragrant, creamy-white flowers. Although each blossom lasts only a day or two, Perfume Flower Tree blooms for several months during the summer, and the flowers have a delicate sweet scent to delight any passerby. This Southeast Asian native has an upright shrubby growth habit with leathery, glossy leaves, and it’s easily grown in a container. As an epiphyte, it tolerates erratic watering, and in the Northeast, Perfume Flower Tree blooms in summer. It makes a wonderful addition to a patio garden. Grow in full to partial sun. Our plants are produced by cuttings off the flowering wood, so they bloom sooner than seed grown plants.
