Tree PotGrafted Plant

This self-fertile American persimmon is one of the hardiest varieties and can survive temperatures of minus 25°F. The small, tasty fruit ripens to a deep orange color and is best eaten when the fruit is soft, giving it a sweet date-like flavor. The fruit can be astringent if eaten too early. Persimmon ‘Meader’ will bear fruit after 2-3 years and it starts to ripen in early fall. In CT, we harvest fruit in mid-October. Reaching heights of 15-20’ tall, this outstanding persimmon was hybridized by the late Professor Elwyn Meader of New Hampshire. This is a grafted plant that blooms and fruits sooner.

Pitiful

I usually get gorgeous, healthy plants from Logee's, but this is one of three trees I ordered that were so pitiful when they arrived. They're unhealthy, puny, and the grafts look awful. I've tried to nurse this one and the others to health, but I'm not sure they're going to make it. For the price tag, plus Logee's exorbitant shipping costs, there's no excuse for such poor quality products.
