Cutting grew quickly from spring to summer and flowered in late winter indoors! Very strong plant on its own roots. It is holding 3 small fruit and still flowering into spring.
I feel unbelievably lucky to have this plant. This one bring me so much joy. I bought htis plant 3 years ago and for the first two years, I didn't let it fruit. I picked all the flowers because I wanted the plant to put its energy towards growing. Now in its third year, it has grown into a beautiful mature shrub (I have it in a pot) and the stems are really thick and sturdy and it's a strong plant. I let it flower and fruit this year and although the fruits are still green, I can say that they're gonna be a whopper. They're already so big, I can't wait to see them ripen so that I can harvest them. And to add to it all, to know that this one came from a 100-year-old plant... just amazing! Truly happy!
This has been the most amazing little tree. It has grown so well and is super full of leaves. It bloomed and beared a single fruit the first year, which surprised me. The lemon was amazing! Weighed 1.8 pounds, was 9 inches long and 17 inches around. Not bad for a young tree! Its already back in bloom and Im really hoping more fruit hold on this time. The wait from bloom to ripe is very long, 9 months or more, but well worth it! Extremely juicy and super flavorful! Made the best lemon pie!! Highly highly recommend.
Excellent container plant! Mine bloomed the first year. The lemons were almost bigger than the plant.
My first lemon took quite a long time to mature. Very lovely flavor. Lots of seeds, though. Now my Wonder Lemon has a kazillion little lemons growing and I've found they are a wonderful addition to hummus. I sliver the little lemons, rind and all. There's no bitterness. Totally Wonderful.
