Avocado Tree ‘Mexicola’ (Persea americana)
A good avocado for containers, ‘Mexicola’ is one of the easier varieties to fruit in a pot, and it has a densely branching, low mounding form. The first to flower of the varieties we grow, it blooms over a long season making it useful as a cross pollinator for other avocado varieties. It’s self-fertile and produces small, shiny, black, oblong fruit about 2” long in late summer. It is one of the more cold hardy cultivars tolerating sub-freezing temperatures better than most. This is a grafted plant in a 6” pot.
