The ability to grow under dry conditions makes this the perfect begonia plant for indoors. An excellent subject for bonsai, this South African species forms a swollen base or caudex. Brought into cultivation in 1961, it has small, sharply pointed leaves that create a fine dense appearance while its white flowers form freely during the longer days of the year. Its growth habit ranges from upright to sprawling.
