Tolerant to dryness and neglect, this upright species from Brazil has always been one of the best examples of the “indestructible begonia.” The thick, round, leathery leaves are covered with fine white hairs and clusters of fragrant white blooms arise on tall stems year-round. It likes a bright location with some direct sun if possible and can thrive in conditions that are dry in both soil moisture and atmosphere. Pruning the upright stems to maintain height is taken with ease.
