Leucospermum ‘Tango’ (Leucospermum hybrid)
Large, round flowers consist
of showy orange stamens and decorative
red ribbons that appear on
the tips of the upright branches in
late spring and early summer. Often
called Pincushion Flower, this rare
plant in the protea family, prefers
acidic, well drained soil, moderate
to low fertility and a sunny location.
Although a native plant of South
Africa, Leucospermums are commonly
grown in Hawaii and Australia. When in full bloom, ‘Tango’ is a glorious sight, and
the exquisite flowers are often used in cut flower arrangements.
