Lipstick Plant
‘Tiger Stripe’ has a wonderful
cascading growth
habit which lends itself
to a hanging basket so
it displays its colorful
blooms during the dark
days of the year from
fall through winter. It
has the flower color
of Aeschynanthus
‘Tricolor’ and the flower
size of Aeschynanthus
‘Pulcher,’ since these are the parents of this hybrid. The flower color is reddish-
orange with dark red striping on the flower and some yellow shading. A
close-up reveals small hair-like cilia on the outside of the flower. This hybrid
of the late Bill Saylor is not the same as the other Lipstick Plant ‘Tiger Stripe’
that has striping on the leaves.
