Monolena primuliflora (Monolena primuliflora)
This rare plant is a tropical epiphyte with large
green leaves that have unusual red and dark green
highlights. In summer, red flower spikes emerge with
pink, begonia-like flowers. As the plant matures, it
forms a caudex at the base. Native to Ecuador and
Peru, it prefers to be grown in bright light, but not
direct sun. Keep the soil media moist for best results.
The attractive foliage makes Monolena a showpiece in
any plant collection.
