Oakleaf Hydrangea ‘Ruby Slippers’ (Hydrangea quercifolia hybrid)
This compact form of Oakleaf Hydrangea is ideal for smaller spaces
since it only grows 3-4’ tall. Developed at the National Arboretum, ‘Ruby
Slippers’ has large white flowers that emerge in summer and mature
to deep pink. Dark green, lobed, oak-leaf-like foliage turns a brilliant
magenta-red in fall. Since it flowers on last year’s wood, prune only after
flowering.
