Banana Shrub ‘Hagiwara’ (Michelia figo ‘Hagiwara’)
Also called Banana Magnolia, ‘Hagiwara’ is a nearly everblooming Banana Shrub that flowers from spring through fall and often in winter in sub-tropical zones. The attractive, cream-colored flowers have a sweet banana fragrance similar to its parent, Michelia figo. It makes an ideal potted plant for northern gardeners or it can be grown as a landscape shrub in warmer zones.
