Angel’s Trumpet - The perfect container plant for fragrant gardens!

Angel's Trumpet in Full Bloom - Angel's Trumpet Plants for Sale

Angel's Trumpets, or Brugmansias, make beautiful, show-stopping floral displays when grown as a container plant on a patio or deck or as the focal point in an outdoor garden. Fast growing, trumpet-shaped flowers emit an intoxicating nighttime fragrance for gardeners to enjoy. Flowers range in size from 6” to 12” long and come in a variety of colors, including white, pink, yellow, peach and red. Depending on which variety of Angel’s Trumpet you grow, some flower nearly continuously throughout the growing season and others flower intermittently, especially in abundance when the nights get cooler, and the days become shorter.

Angel’s Trumpets are popular in moon gardens for their sweet alluring evening scent. They are some of the easiest flowers to grow, simply give the plant lots of fertilizer, full sun and daily watering when temperatures are hot and dry. Below are four featured Angel's Trumpet plants for sale at Logee's that we think you'll love, but you can also view all of our Angel's Trumpet plants here.

Angel’s Trumpet ‘Pink Profusion’ is a stunning bloomer, heavily ladened with pink floral trumpets that reach 9” in length and stretch 6” across. To add to its splendor, there are curly tails on each flower. It starts blooming in early summer and continues to flower in intermittent waves until fall. ‘Pink Profusion’ is from Byron Martin’s Angel Series of exclusive hybridized brugmansias.

‘Angel’s Summer Dream’ PPAF is the first hybrid by Byron Martin in his Angel Series of Brugmansias. It starts blooming when the plant is only 12” tall, and the low lateral branching makes it perfect for containers on a patio or deck or it can be grown successfully in a large hanging basket. As the flowers age, they change color from yellow to deep orange. A delightful night time scent fills the air with sweet perfume. ‘Angel’s Summer Dream’ is an everbloomer and it flowers continuously throughout the growing season from shoots and spurs. This award-winning plant will be one of your favorites!

Angel’s Trumpet ‘Mitzy’s Kiss’ is a compact grower with magnificent salmon-pink, double flowers. The floral trumpets arrive in waves of blooms throughout the summer and grow to about 8” long by 5” across with fancy fluted petals and long petal tails. As with all Angel’s Trumpets, ‘Mitzy’s Kiss’ has an intoxicating nighttime fragrance that enhances any garden space.

Angel’s Trumpet ‘Snowfall’ features white fragrant flowers that arrive in succession from spring to fall on this compact Angel’s Trumpet. This Byron Martin hybrid has a lateral branching growth habit, and the prolific flowering makes it perfect for a container where space is limited. The nighttime fragrant flowers are medium size (up to 6” long) but their smaller size is made up for by their sheer abundance. It’s easily maintained in a large pot at 3-4’ tall or it can be grown in a large hanging basket as it flowers quickly.

Angel’s Trumpet plants are relatively low maintenance, making them suitable for both experienced and novice gardeners. During hot, dry weather, the plant requires daily watering but it’s usually resilient and forgiving if occasional lapses in care occur. Grow in full sun and fertilize regularly during the growing season to encourage consistent blooming and vigorous, deep green foliage. Prune to maintain its shape and remove dead or damaged branches. In northern zones, bring your Angel’s Trumpet plant inside for the winter months as it is not cold hardy. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a beginner, growing Angel’s Trumpets in containers brings beauty, fragrance and a touch of elegance to your surroundings.
