A member of the Honeysuckle family, Honeyberry is grown for its blueberry- like fruit. Native to Russia, the small shrubs are hardy to zone 3 and are easy-to-grow with no pest or disease problems. The soft gray-green, velvet-like foliage has a spreading habit and the shrubs usually reach 3’ high and 4’ wide. The tasty, easy-to-harvest fruit looks like elongated blueberries. The fruit may be eaten fresh or frozen to enjoy later. We are selling a set of ‘Indigo Gem’ and ‘Tundra’ since 2 varieties are needed for pollination. These are both late bloomers (usually flowering in May) with the fruit ripening in July and August.

Bill Jackson Tundra, the largest of the two, is doing fine. The indigo gem is very small and only came with two live branches. It is struggling even though it is blooming. Time will tell if it lives.
