This new Cape Primrose has captured our attention not only for its color but also for its compact size. The blooms are deep red with a yellow throat and only reach about 3/4” in size. Also known as "Cape Primrose", Streptocarpus are easy-to-grow, colorful and can bloom year-round if the right cultural conditions are met.

• Grow in partial sun to shade.• Keep temperatures above 50°F.• Water accurately; allow soil to become visually dry between waterings.• Never allow cold water to touch the leaves.• Go easy on the fertilizer – just once or twice a month with a dilute solution.

Lovely Grandmother's Flowers

This is my third cape primrose from Logee's. Texas Hot Chili is so lovely and old fashioned looking-- really does remind me of my grandmother dresses and style. Sounds a bit corny, but these flowers remind me of her, and seeing them really brings cheer to my heart! She's been gone for many years. I grow these in the same conditions as I grow my African Violets. If you are successful with African Violets, you will be successful with the Cape Primrose.
