This stunning Colocasia ‘Waikiki’ originates from plant hybridizer, Dr. John Cho, retired Emeritus Plant Pathologist from the University of Hawaii. ‘Waikiki’ is part of the Royal Hawaiian® series. The leaves emerge green and develop a wide white central vein with a purple dot in the center. As the leaves mature, the purple expands into the veins and creates a sensational foliage display in the garden. ‘Waikiki’ is an attractive container plant that reaches 36-42” tall with deep purple stems and showy leaves. Grow in full to partial sun and moist soil. ‘Waikiki’ was chosen as the first Colocasia winner in the All-America Selections for 2023.

Tips for Success: 

Fast and easy-to-grow the Taro Root is almost foolproof and the large leaves a pleasure to grow.

• Grow in full sun. The more sun the better, although they will   grow under varying light levels.• Fertilize moderately but be consistent. Too much feed can   burn the foliage.• In the summer water freely. They can be grown in water or at   the water's edge. • For container and garden planting keep evenly moist.• In winter, tubers can be dug and stored in a basement,   keeping some moisture around the root. Or grow inside as a   houseplant.
