OUR MISSION & GUARANTEE
Logee’s brings a diversity of people and plants together to experience the joy of gardening. We want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases, and to be successful growing fruiting, rare and tropical plants. We guarantee our plants will arrive in good condition, and be true to variety name.
SHIPPING
We pack and ship your plants with care, however, the time in transit may cause normal shipping stress. Some symptoms of shipping stress include yellowing, wilting or loss of leaves, loss of fruit or flowers, and minor damage to branches. During the shipping process a leaf may break, or other minor damage may occur. This is not cause for alarm because a well-rooted plant will recover quickly.
If your plant arrives dead or with severe shipping damage, please notify us within 48 hours and send a photo to [email protected]. Claims for plants that died in transit need to be processed promptly.
RETURNS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
If a plant dies within 60 days, please contact our Customer Service Department [email protected] or by phone 860-774-8038 (Monday-Friday; 9-5 PM EST). Please provide us with a description of the problem and in some cases, we may ask for a photo.
Plants that die within the 60 Day Guarantee period are eligible for a one-time replacement (if the item is in-stock) or a refund or store-credit for the cost of the merchandise. Shipping fees are non-refundable. For plants that die after the 60 Day Guarantee period, we are unable to offer a replacement, refund, or credit. In some cases, we may require the defective plant or merchandise to be returned to us before a return can be processed. In this case, we will reimburse the customer for the return postage.
No refunds will be given for returns of partial plants, cuttings, or plants from which cuttings have been taken. No exceptions.
RARE PLANTS
Select Rare Plants are not eligible for exchanges or replacements but are covered by our 60 Day Guarantee. To initiate a return, you must send back the entire plant you received. We will reimburse you for the cost of shipping the plant back to us.
VARIEGATED PLANTS
Due to the natural variability in the degree of variegation occurring in plants, the appearances of no two leaves or plants are ever alike. Each plant is unique. As variegated plants grow and produce additional leaves, each new leaf may emerge with a different appearance, having varying degrees of variegation. For this reason, we are unable to guarantee a specific amount of variegation in any leaf or plant, and unable to accommodate exchanges based on the appearance of the variegation.
Variegated plants sold on our website will be similar in size and appearance to the plants shown in the representative photos. Please note, you will receive a starter plant that is similar in appearance to the representative plant in the photo; however, the plant you receive may have more or less variegation than the photo shows.
DORMANT PLANTS
Dormant plants arrive dormant and once they start growing, then the 60-day guarantee period begins. Please follow the dormant plant care guide.
PLANT CARE
General unpacking instructions and plant care are included with every order, and specific plant care for many varieties is available on our website and can be included with your order by request. Please read these care guidelines to have the best success with your plants.

When the winter begins Logee's starts using USPS Priority Mail for all standard shipping because the priority mail travels mostly by air and the post office never leaves its packages in trucks outside overnight. Between careful monitoring of the weather (see our map and details below) and the priority mail service we have had very good success. However, sometime packages do freeze ... please contact us immediately if you have a problem. When the day-time temperature falls close to freezing (either in Connecticut or your state) we can no longer ship safely using priority mail. At that point, you may choose our insulated express shipping (see below) or wait until the weather warms enough to safely ship.
Insulated Express Shipping
When the day-time temperatures fall to freezing or below (either in Connecticut or your state) the only way to safely ship plants is to use insulated express shipping. We offer both FedEx 2-Day and Overnight options. In either case, your plants are packed in an insulated box with a heat pack at no additional charge. Our current testing shows that this method should protect packages in weather down to about 18° F for a daytime high and about 15° F for a night-time low (a little lower if you choose 1-day shipping). If your local temperatures are lower we will hold the order until it is safe to ship or you can contact us - the insulated shipping may still be available as long as you use overnight shipping and will be home to receive the package. Note: Our insulated shipping method is only available with overnight or two day shipping because the heat packs do not last long enough to use in standard shipping.
The map below shows how Logee's divides the country into zones by weather patterns.
Typical Winter Shipping for Standard Shipping:
Zone AN - Usually too cold for nearly the entire winter
Zone AA - Usually too cold for much of the winter
Zone AW - Usually too cold for a good portion of the winter
Zone AL - Usually too cold for a good portion of the winter
Zone AE - Periods of warmth and cold so shipping is sporadic
Zone AM - Usually warm enough, but shipping is sporadic because of Connecticut weather
Zone AS - Usually warm enough, but shipping is sporadic because of Connecticut weather
Alaska and Hawaii
Sorry, we cannot take international orders.
Although most Logee's plants are for inside or outside your home, there are some plants that most people would prefer to plant outside. For these plants there is a preferable time to plant outside depending upon your zone. Use the zone finder and table below to determine when to plant outside in your zone. Your may have your order held until this date by putting a note in the "Order Hold Date" portion of the checkout page (under "Special Instructions") or by telling the customer service representative if you place your order over the phone. If you do not request a specific ship date, we will ship the plants to you as soon as possible. The plants can be kept in your home until ready for planting outside, just as we keep the plants in our greenhouses.
