Fiery Costus (Chamaecostus cuspidatus)
Brilliant 2” orange blossoms with wavy petal edges and yellow hearts adorn the upright stems of this low-growing Fiery Costus. The broad, deep green leaves form a spiral on the short stems with clusters of flower buds emerging at the tips on the mature growth. Flowers open over a long period of time with blooming occurring throughout most of the year. From eastern Brazil, this rainforest plant performs well under moderate light and lower humidity. With its modest stature and brilliant floral expression it is a great addition to the indoor garden.
