‘Beer’s Black’ is a dwarf
fig tree that produces medium-
sized figs with a reddish-pink
center and a violet exterior skin.
Similar to ‘Violette de Bordeaux,’
this is one of the best figs for eating
and making preserves. ‘Beer’s
Black’ is self-pollinating, and it
produces an early breba crop in
the spring and then another crop
of figs in the fall. Remember to
grow in full sun, well-drained
soil and dry out between waterings.
A lovely addition to your
potted container collection or
plant directly into the ground in
your outdoor garden space in
zones 7-9 or 6 with added winter
protection.
