4 years later, I am "producing" limes in North Carolina! Last year, my tree finally flowered (3 years after purchase) and now I have 5 plump limes ready for harvest and many flowers about to blossom (April 2023). Will have the cull some to ensure size and reduce weight. Very happy with this tree!
I purchased this in January 2019. The plant arrived healthy and a little on the small side. I potted it up and keep it indoors during cold months as I am in zone 5b. After about two years, in March of 2021 the plant flowered. Since being put outside for the summer, the plant put out two more flushes of growth with new flowers. It is now October 2021 and I have 5 ripe limes. I ate them with my brother, wife and daughter(8). I find the limes nearly tasteless. Everyone else enjoyed them including my daughter who wants the rest packed in her lunch. I think the best description came from my brother who described the taste like the end of a cherry limeade when all that is left is the melted ice sitting at the bottom with the lime.
Overall it has been a fun plant to grow and Logees provided a healthy plant that came quickly. I think my time may have been better spent on something with a little more flavor. But this is an interesting plant and is certainly not like anything I can buy at a grocery store.
I bought the 2.5 inch plant in April 2019, repotted it in a 8" ceramic pot upon arrival with potting soild, plenty of home-made compost and good watering. The plant has grown well throughout the first summer, winter (inside, I live in Raleigh) and now second summer. It has more than doubled in size (both height and width). Still waiting for flower buds though. . .
