African Starfish Flower (Stapelia gigantea)

Honored by the Royal Horticultural Society with an Award of Garden Merit, the African Starfish Flower has enormous blooms that can reach 9–12” across. The yellow flowers have maroon highlights, and they are covered in small, velvety hairs. When in bloom, this succulent produces a distinctive scent that attracts pollinators in its native African habitat. Easy-to-grow, African Starfish Flower has thick, angular stems and it is an ideal plant for a sunny windowsill or a tropical rock garden. This reliable bloomer tolerates periods of dryness.
