I purchased my Etrog in 2.5" pot 3 years ago and this spring it started fruiting! It's currently about 5' tall and we've been pruning to keep the branches sturdy which temporarily sacrifices flower/fruit. There's a long ripening period, but staff enjoy checking on it daily. I'm going to candy the rind when ripe in the tradition of making glazed citron for baking.
I got this plants back in 2021 and got two in one. They got big and finally started flowering this winter. Can't wait to see how the fruit looks. hoping to get some fruits this summer and harvest in the fall. I've only seen similar citrons in Sylhet, Bangladesh where it is wildly popular and cultivated. We eat the fruits that are imported here with rice and spicy beef curry, rind and all since it's sweet but it's so very expensive and hurts the wallet. I'm just so happy Logee's has this variety!
I bought this plant last summer during a visit to the greenhouse. It is now about a foot tall and several flower buds, one of which just opened. No fruit yet but will keep you posted.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Charlie! We're thrilled to hear your Citron Tree Etrog is thriving and putting on flowers—that's wonderful progress in just a year. We can't wait to hear how it develops, and we're honored you chose to grow one of these special citrus beauties with us. Happy growing!

At this point I'm giving the plants 5 stars because it's survived through a bit of an ordeal. I bought the plant about a year and a half ago in which time it didn't really grow much until I saw a YouTube video that said etrog should get a light feeding once a week. By wintertime it had grown a few inches but was pretty straggly so this spring I did a "hard prune" and clipped off the top of the plant so that it was just an 8 in bare stick in a pot. I continued the weekly fertilization and in a couple of months it has since put out a profusion of small branches and leaves, maybe about 10 branches. I'll have to provide an update this winter.
Daniel, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful update on your Citron Tree Etrog—we love hearing how these beauties respond to the right care! It's remarkable how much your plant has transformed with consistent feeding and that strategic pruning, and we're thrilled it's now putting out all those vigorous new branches. We'd absolutely love to hear how it progresses through the winter, so please don't hesitate to check back in with us. The Logee's Team
