Drymonia (Drymonia chiribogana)
Grown for its shiny silver veined leaves, this Ecuadorian gesneriad is easy to grow as a houseplant. It blooms for us during the shorter days of the year from fall to spring, and it shows off its purple to pinkish flowers along its upright stems. Known for its satiny sheen, the leaves tend to change color depending on the angle in which they are viewed. It likes warm temperatures between 60-80°F with bright filtered light. Drymonia creates a stunning addition to the indoor windowsill.
