Hops ‘Nugget’ (Humulus lupulus hybrid)
A fast-growing and hardy perennial vine, Hops have light golden, cone-shaped flowers used for making beer. The beautiful vine grows up to 25’ in a single season and dies-back to the crown each fall. The vine and fragrant flowers make a sensational statement in any landscape whether you use the hops to make beer or not. Grow on a fence, wall or trellis for support. Our Hops plants are strictly females so they produce the most flowers. Flowers begin to ripen mid-August to mid-September. ‘Nugget’ is a bittering hops that imparts bitterness to beer to balance the sweetness of the malt. Hops are also used in teas for insomnia.
