Very healthy plant and well packaged.
I bought this plant almost 5 years ago and it is in a large pot. It has grown over 7 feet tall and looking healthy, but no buds yet. I am in bay area, California.
I need some advice on pruning and how to get the plant bloom.
Hi Laxmi,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Joy Perfume Tree. It sounds like your plant is growing beautifully and has really thrived over the years. Budding can sometimes take a bit longer, especially in container-grown plants or in cooler coastal climates like the Bay Area.
If you’d like, we’d be happy to go over care and environmental conditions with you to help encourage blooming — sometimes a small adjustment in light, feeding, or temperature can make a big difference. We can be reached at info@logees.com and would be happy to put you in touch with our horticulturalist!
Thank you again for your thoughtful review. We’re glad to hear your tree is healthy and doing well.
I bought this plant in 2018; it has grown to 5 feet. It looks healthy, has beautiful green leaves, and the stem is nice and strong. The growth is always vigorous during the springtime, but there are no blooms yet. I had contacted Logees for advice on how to get the blooms, and I have followed the advice, but I am still waiting for the blooms. Researching on the web, I learned that if the plant is grown from a seed, it takes 10 years to bloom, but if it is grafted from an already flowering plant, the blooms come within a year. The store told me that it is not grown from a seed, and it should flower pretty soon. I love the plant, and I am still patiently waiting for it to bloom.
