$16.95
SKU: R1701-2

2.5" Pot Size

The Nong Nooch Vine is an amazing climber that brings ease of culture, vigorous growth and stunning floral form to the container gardener. Flowering from spring through fall, the blooms form on the tips of its vining stems and pendulate down 2' or more in length. Soft yellow bracts and creamy white flowers form a pendulous inflorescence that opens over many weeks. The blooming cycle lasts for months, often hanging on well into winter. A great vine to train on stake or trellis, or let it clamber up a support in a conservatory or sunroom.

Seriously Underutilized Potential

I received my Nong Noch Vine in late March of 2020. I'd seen it planted before in several botanic gardens but never available for retail purchase, so when I found it for sale at Logee's it was an impulse buy. Of the many vining houseplants I've cultivated, this is by far the most vigorous. I purchased the 2.5" pot size and was surprised by how large it was so I potted it straight away into a 6" terra cotta and it rapidly grew to fill the pot in my somewhat dimly lit bathroom. By August of last year it finally slowed growing as it became rootbound within the pot, at this stage the main vine had reached nearly 5' long and numerous smaller vines were appearing. Earlier this winter I decided to prune back the plant some and leave it in the 6" pot to maintain it somewhat compact for a while. With spring nearing now, I plan on moving it into a larger pot and moving it into a sunnier location in the hopes it will flower this year though it is beautiful without blooms. Overall a great underutilized houseplant not seen enough on the market.
