One of the renowned Peterson Paw Paws, Shenandoah™ is highly sought after by Paw Paw growers for its delicious fruit that weighs up to one pound each. Ripens in September.
The largest of the Native American fruits, the Paw Paw is one of the easiest to grow. The tree size is modest and does well in partial sun. Spring brings purple flowers that transform into clusters of oblong fruit. In fall, the large, green fruit softens, emits a ripe fragrance and takes on a yellow color. It’s then you pick and eat the flavorful fruit that’s reminiscent of banana custard. Fruit can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks. The nutritious fruit is high in protein and a good source of vitamins and minerals. You must plant two different cultivars for cross-pollination. We love that Paw Paws are not susceptible to insects or diseases and therefore never need to be sprayed with pesticides. Paw Paws usually start bearing fruit 2-3 years after planting and can yield up to 30 pounds per tree.

Christie Lyons I found Logee's online, and decided to give it a chance, since I wanted a grafted pawpaw tree. I ordered two small trees and worried a bit that they would suffer during shipping during the hot summer.
To my delight, the plants arrived looking as fresh as if I had just collected them from a greenhouse. They weren't at all wilted. The leaves were green and perky. They were carefully packed and had good instructions in the box with them. The two little trees went right outside into my shaded area for acclimation. Within a week, I had them planted and they are doing great. I'm so impressed with my experience with Logee's and will definitely order again!

Venus Excellent Trees! I ordered 2 different Paw Paw Trees. They were EXACTLY as described, very healthy and with active root system. They are small. They definately will need protection for a few years. I am so excited to watch them both grow! Thank you so much for taking time to graft these.
