One of the largest flowers in the world, a single bloom of Pelican Flower is a sight to behold. The heart-shaped flower face can reach up to a foot long and grow 8 inches wide. Maroon veining appears over the cream-colored flower. The deep maroon center bull’s eye leads to an inflated pouch. Adding to its mystique, a long tendril tail descends from the front of the flower. When in bloom, it emits a carrion-like odor to attract pollinators but within 24 hours, the smell dissipates and then just a gorgeous bloom is left to admire.
