Ruellia ‘Christmas Pride’ (Ruellia macrantha)
Large, 3” pink blossoms are highlighted with dark pink veining in the throat, and the flowers arise on the upright stems and emerge over many weeks in the dead of winter. Easy to grow, ‘Christmas Pride’ needs a sunny location, and the shortening daylength from late summer and fall will bring it into full glory. Prune only after blooming so as not disrupt the flowering cycle. This Brazilian native is a showy container plant for winter blooming.
