Spotted Beebalm ‘Deep Purple’ (Monarda punctata hybrid)

A bright purple selection for the late summer and fall garden, this perennial has darker purple colored bracts that hold on and add color and depth to the garden border. Although most Beebalm is hardy to Zone 4, this new ‘Deep Purple’ selection is much more tender, winter hardy only to zone 7. However, since it’s a fast grower, it can be used as an annual in the far north as well as grown as a container plant where it can be moved inside for the winter season. Spotted Beebalm is loved by bees and pollinators of all kinds.
