Handwritten Greeting Card with your order - Meyer Lemon
Wasabi, often called Japanese horseradish, is a spicy condiment used for sushi and other foods. The large, 3-6” leaves grow from an underground rhizome that contains the pungent compounds that give Wasabi its flavor. Wasabi rhizomes are grated and served as a pale green paste that gives a powerful sensation in the nose when eaten. It comes from the same plant family as radish, horseradish and mustard. Wasabi plants must be grown in shady areas; they will not tolerate full sun. The plant needs high humidity and cool temperatures between 55-70°F. It should be kept moist at all times. Because it is challenging to grow, Wasabi is hard-to-find in nurseries and garden centers. If you are an adventurous gardener, we encourage you to try growing Wasabi.
