I bought this plant to deter neighbor cats from doing their business in our front yard. I've transplanted the lemongrass twice and even still, it survived and is now thriving. It gets a lot of direct sunlight, so we water it pretty frequently and it's growing very fast. Looks beautiful too and it does work on deterring cats. I plan to order more. Would recommend.
Two varieties are commonly found in nurseries: West Indian lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus) and East Indian lemon grass (Cymbopogon flexuosus). Both can be used for cooking, but the thicker West Indian variety is better.
First time ordering lemongrass, I like cooking Thai food and I am constantly looking for fresh lemongrass, I am really glad I have found it here, from now on I will have my own plant to make my delicious soups.
