Hardy Kiwi Vine ‘Ken’s Red’ (Actinidia purpurea x melanandra)
Clusters of sweet, smooth fruit are ready for harvest from September through October. The bite-sized, colorful fruit boasts reddish-purple skin and flesh and it’s eaten like a grape – skin and all. ‘Ken’s Red’ is a vigorous grower that should be planted in full sun with support to climb on. Like most female hardy kiwi, Ken’s Red needs a hardy male kiwi for cross-pollination. One male plant can pollinate up to 8 female plants. Once plants are mature, fruit yield can reach 100 pounds in a
single season. Hardy kiwi plants have excellent pest and disease resistance. Hardy in zones 4-9. Single plant sold in a 4" pot.
