Bringing both texture and form to the windowsill garden, Begonia goegoensis is a rare species from Sumatra that has stood the test of time. Brought into cultivation in the late 1800s, it has been in our collection as far back as anyone can remember. The peltate leaves have an undulating texture with radiating veins and a copper tone on the juvenile leaves that mature to mottled shades of green. The best part of this rhizomatous species is its ability to endure in the varying cultural conditions since it can tolerate low humidity, periods of dryness and low light and still perform admirably.
