Brazilian Red Flare (Aphelandra species)
Brazilian Red Flare has outstanding deep red bloom color and it flowers in the wintertime bringing holiday cheer to the dark days. Similar to Aphelandra sinclairiana in its growth habit yet, the flower heads are denser and a deeper red. Brazilian Red Flare grows throughout the summertime and blooms during the shorter days of winter. The red flower bracts rise in spires above the foliage so its beauty is easily seen.
