Rare, blue-flowering cattleyas are popular with orchid enthusiasts. Lc Busy Bev ‘Blue Jewel’ has fragrant, 4-5” flowers with light periwinkle blue petals and a dark purple lip. There are usually 2 flowers per spike and the flowers last 2-3 weeks. It can bloom in both spring and fall if grown in good light. ‘Blue Jewel’ is an Award of Merit winner from the American Orchid Society. This is a blooming sized plant in a 4” pot.

• They grow from rhizomes with the newest growth creating  the next flowers or re-bloom.• High light is one of the keys to creating flower buds to form.• Grow in some direct sunlight.• Maintain root health. Adhere to proper watering.• Allowing the potting media to dry down between waterings  and then thoroughly saturate.• These varieties need higher light than Phalaenopsis.
