Variegated Wax Ivy (Senecio macroglossus ‘Variegatus’)
2 reviews
$16.00
2.5" Pot Size
A relative of the String of Pearls plant, Variegated Wax Ivy has been on display in our retail greenhouses for years. It has shiny, waxy leaves that resemble those of English Ivy but without the headache of spider mites or other pests. The variegated, triangular leaves and plump stems of this climbing vine make for a lush hanging basket or trellised climber in a pot. In bright sun, the white stems and leaf edges blush a beautiful pink and purple that creates a lovely contrast with the green. In the summertime, yellow, daisy-like flowers appear. Like other senecios, it prefers to dry between waterings but it has been a carefree plant for us for many years. Variegated Wax Ivy received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Merit for its spectacular foliar variegation.
Available in a 2.5" pot.

Teresa I was so happy to find this wax ivy here! I have never seen one anywhere else. I ordered 2 plants to put together. They arrived a very nice size for the small pots. They have grown fast and grew stems several feet long in about 3 months! All I do is have them sitting outside with my succulents. Out of my hundreds of plants, it's one of my favorite!

Alicia When I first got the plant, I was a little sad because it was one tiny vine. Now within four months it has grown into a really full, gorgeous large plants with lots of branches and vines. The variegation is really cool with some all white leaves. Anything you cut off the stem roots super quickly in water, and it grows like crazy. I learned not to give it much fertilizer otherwise the growth gets a little leggy, but I just cut it off and have a ton more vines now. Super happy with this purchase, cool plant.
