Arctic Raspberry Plants

Arctic Raspberry Plants for Sale

Arctic Raspberry Plant Set 'Beta' & 'Sophia'

Arctic Raspberries are unusual new varieties developed in Sweden at the Balsgard Fruit Breeding Institute. They only grow 3-5” tall and make a dense mat of leaves on the ground. In late spring, lavender flowers appear and turn into sweet, red raspberry fruits by mid-summer. The fruits are about the size of a small ‘Heritage’ raspberry and each plant can produce up to one pound of ripe berries. In fall, the green foliage changes to colorful crimson and burgundy. The plants die-back to the ground in winter and regrow in spring. There is no annual pruning needed so these require less work than standard raspberries. They create a beautiful, edible ground cover. Arctic Raspberries need a cross-pollinator to set fruit. We are selling a Set of 2 plants: ‘Beta’ and ‘Sophia.’ These are the hardiest fruiting plants we sell, able to withstand cold temperatures to zone 2. Set of 2 plants, each in a 2.5” pot.

Miracle Berry Plants

Miracle Berry Plants for Sale

Miracle Berries

We've been experimenting with Miracle Fruit for a number of years and finally we're able to offer it so others may enjoy it too. The miracle is in the berry. Once you've eaten the small red fruit (about the size of a gumdrop), everything sour eaten afterwards tastes incredibly sweet, including sour citrus. From tropical West Africa, it flowers profusely with fruit setting usually during the summer months in northern climates. Slow growth is normal and for successful growth it must be planted in an acidic soil-mixture of half sphagnum peat moss and half perlite. This plant remains modest in size.

Goldenberry Plants

Goldenberry Plants for Sale

Goldenberries

Goldenberry produces yellow berries the size of a penny. The fruit is sweet when fully ripe with a mild tartness. Related to the tomatillo, Goldenberries are enclosed in papery calyxes. Once the fruit has ripened, it has an extraordinary shelf life of 30-45 days. We grow ours in a 45°greenhouse in the winter where it produces fruit year-round but it tolerates 80° temperatures in summer. Although it is a bit of a rambling vine, a little pruning from time to time keeps it a manageable size. Grow in well-drained soil in partial to full sun and watch the velvety heart-shaped leaves fill out with fruit in one season. Goldenberries are considered a superfruit full of vitamins and antioxidants.

Guava Trees & Plants

Guava Trees for Sale

Grava Tree 'Ruby Supreme'

One of the easiest tropical fruiting plants to grow for the beginning fruit gardener, ‘Ruby Supreme’ has baseball-sized fruits that turn yellow when ripe. The inner flesh is highly aromatic, sweet and pink. It can be eaten fresh or made into jelly or juice. For optimum sweetness, let the fruit fully ripen on the tree when the skin yields slightly to the touch. ‘Ruby Supreme’ flowers and fruits year-round in cycles that last 60-90 days between flowering and ripe fruit. For container grown guavas, we recommend pruning the shrub to create a bushy plant that’s as wide as it is tall. Our plants are cutting grown so they begin fruiting at a young age often by the time the plants are 2’ tall. The more sun and warmth they receive, the more fruit they produce.
